Dr. Molly O’Brien was born and raised in Belle Plaine, Iowa. She grew up riding dirt bikes long before she ever owned a horse. Her passion for horses eventually led her into the saddle, competing in a variety of western disciplines before more recently discovering a love for eventing. Dr. O’Brien graduated from Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021 and completed an internship at Pine Ridge Equine Hospital the following year. She went on to pursue an equine surgical residency at Iowa State and joined Pine Ridge Equine Hospital upon completion in 2025.

Her professional interests include emergency medicine, sports medicine, orthopedics, and soft tissue surgery. Outside of work, you'll likely find her hiking with her two dogs, riding her horse, cheering for the Iowa State Cyclones or Philadelphia Eagles, and enjoying time with family and friend.
