Dr. Kate Johansen was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her love for animals started at an early age and was fostered by her family’s many dogs, cats, and horses.  She grew up riding and competing in hunter/jumper and combined training events.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology before attending the Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2016.  Upon graduation, she completed an equine internship in Boise, Idaho.  She spent several years living and practicing in Cincinnati, Ohio, before returning to the Tulsa area to be closer to her family. 

Dr. Johansen’s interests include dentistry, theriogenology, sports medicine and internal medicine.  In her free time, Dr. Johansen enjoys running, attending concerts, and caring for her houseplants.  She and her husband Eric love to spend time with their friends and family, and embarking on cruises whenever they can!
